Make sure that there is enough data in the first place

The business of analytics is all about seeing trends and patterns in data. That being said, one can’t make accurate interpretations if the data set is too small—there’s simply not enough data there to be statistically significant.

For instance, if five people clicked on a sponsored Facebook post that touts a vehicle’s robust engine, it simply means those people are interested in that feature. If five people clicked on the ad each day over the span of three months, however, one can infer that this particular feature is an effective draw among potential buyers.
